Brooklyn Film Festival in the US is set to host Iranian feature ‘Golnesa’ on Afghan refugees suffering.

Directed by Sattar Chamani-Gol, the Iranian movie is placed among titles under Narrative Feature Films category of the event with two show times scheduled for June 8-9.

‘Golnesa’ tells the story of a young Afghan couple, Golmammad and Golnesa, in Iran.

Working in a traditional brick-making kiln in the suburbs of Tehran, they have to deal with challenges faced in everyday life.

Saeed Dakh, Saqi Zinati, Yeganeh Rajabi, Ali-Mohammad Radmanesh and Masoud Mohammadi are among the cast.

The filmmaker's note on the film reads, “I present this film to all oppressed women in the world. Hoping for the day that the oppression of women will end all over the world.”

Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF) is an International, competitive festival. BFF mission is to provide a public forum in Brooklyn in order to advance public interest in films and the independent production of films.

The 21st edition of the event slated for June 1-11, 2018 will be held in Brooklyn, New York City.
